The PlayStation 5 is not silent during gameplay, but it’s just about as quiet as you can possibly imagine. While writing our PS5 review, we strained to listen to the system, just so we could paint an accurate picture of how noisy it is. The bottom line is that its gentle hum is lightyears better than the PS4 Pro’s aggressive puffing.

You’ll want to play with headphones due to 3D audio, of course, but gone are the days of overhearing your PS4 Pro’s fan in the background. Thank heavens!
